Canfield students hear appeals case

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Some Canfield students got an up front seat to live court proceedings right in their own high school.

The four judges with the Seventh District Court of Appeals went on the road Wednesday, listening to cases at Canfield High School.

Sitting in the audience was about 24 junior and seniors from a student government class.

Among the cases being heard was an appeal on a drug conviction from Columbiana County.

From time to time, the court moves to a different venue to give the public a chance to see how the appeals system works.

The Seventh District covers eight counties in southeastern Ohio.
