Howland edges rival Canfield

Howland slipped past Canfield 2-1 in high school baseball action Thursday evening.

Both teams managed just two hits apiece in the game.

Kurtis Kuszmaul picked up the win on the mound for Howland, with one strikeout.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning, the Tigers got on the board when Kuszmaul scored on an error, tying the game at 1.

Later in the fourth inning, Ray Hill gave Howland a 2-1 lead when he drove in Vinnie Ruberto on a sac-fly, to cap off the scoring.

Howland improves to 11-4 overall, and 2-1 in league play.

Canfield is now 7-7 overall, and 1-3 in AAC play.
