Dems make final push before election

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Democrats were drumming up support Saturday ahead of Tuesday’s primary election.

The endorsed candidates gathered at Saint Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown to rally support.

Among the big races are Mahoning County Probate Court and Court of Appeals. Mahoning County Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti said there has been a lot of preparation leading up to the primary.

“We have been working very hard. All the candidates have been working very hard throughout this whole election cycle,” said Rimedio-Righetti. “Some have worked for two years prior to this. We’ve all been working constantly – bingos, card parties, fish dinners, spaghetti dinners, we’ve been everywhere. All of the candidates have been all over.”

Polls are open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
