Man killed in Liverpool Township crash

Liverpool Township, Ohio (WKBN) – An East Liverpool man has died after crashing into a utility pole in Liverpool Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Edward Gula, 47, was traveling north on Route 267 about 11:30 p.m. Friday when he veered off the road and hit a utility pole.

He was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gula was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol appears to be a contributing factor. Police said a blood sample was taken, but the results are not available at this time.
