Austintown teacher under investigation

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Austintown Local Schools Superintendent Vince Colaluca confirmed Monday morning that an Austintown Fitch High School social studies teacher is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation into allegations made against the teacher.

The teacher is accused of having an improper relationship with a female Austintown Fitch High School senior.

Colaluca said the school board is investigating the matter and did not know the exact date of the teacher’s suspension. Colaluca said he has not had problems with the teacher before.

“We need to ensure the safety of our children,” Colaluca said. “We’re doing a thorough investigation here.”
