Akron’s Board of Trustees to meet Thursday

AKRON, Ohio (WKBN) — The University of Akron’s Board of Trustees will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. for an executive session under an Ohio Revised Code rule which allows meetings regarding personnel decisions and contract negotiations.

Akron is currently searching for its next school president. Jim Tressel is one of the final three candidates, along with University of Maryland Eastern Shore Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Ronald Nykiel and University of Toledo Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Scott Scarborough.

When the board votes to go into an executive session, only members of the board and individuals requested by the Board may remain in the meeting room and participate in the discussion.

Any business may be conducted at any regular or special meeting of the Board of Trustees. The meeting will be held at the University’s Student Union Board Room 339.
