Semi crash closes portion of I-80 in Pa.

MERCER, Pa. (WKBN) – A tractor-trailer accident shut down traffic in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania Tuesday morning.

The accident happened about 7:15 a.m. near the mile two marker.

A tractor-trailer jack-knifed and a portion of the truck caught fire. Smoke plumes could be seen for miles on the highway.

Traffic was detoured off I-80 at Exit 4.

Both westbound lanes were closed until about 12:30 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries.
