Burt Cole talks to Stan Boney about his books.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Tribune Chronicle assistant metro editor Burt Cole can add published author to his repertoire.

Cole has written two children’s books that are based on actual people, namely himself and his cousin. The books recount adventures from their childhood.

His first book, “Bash and the Pirate Pig,” was released on Sept. 1, 2013. The second one, released on Thursday, is called “Bash and the Chicken Coop Caper.”

The books should be available at local bookstores, including the Lion and Lamb inside the Eastwood Mall, Books a Million in the Eastwood Mall complex and at Leana’s Books and More at the Shenango Valley Mall.

Cole will be signing copies of his book from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 at the 40th annual Kingsville Library Lawn Sale & Festival at Kingsville Township Park at the intersection of state Routes 84 and 193. He also will be signing books from 6 to 10 p.m. May 19 in the lobby at Packard Music Hall during the Gospel Music Concert with Gold City and the Keelings.
