Canfield rallies for Senior Night win

Canfield, OH (WKBN) On Canfield’s senior night, it was fitting that two seniors brought home the winning run. Senior Jake Cole hit a walkoff sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 8th inning to score senior Colton Crissman and give Canfield a 5-4 win in their home and conference finale.

Crissman was credited with the win in relief, allowing just one hit in two innings. Edmond Pilolli had a double and 3 RBI for Canfield, while Nick Luchansky had two hits and scored the game-tying run.

West Branch (11-7) was led by Ryan Adams with three hits. Jake Smith also had 2 hits and 2 RBI, while Jerian Thomas added 2 hits with an RBI.

The Cardinals (9-7, 4-2 AAC) have five games remaining before the state tournament, including tomorrow night at Twinsburg. Canfield, the four seed in their D2 district, will face the winner of Struthers and Salem next Wednesday.
