Draft Profile: Corey Linsley, OL/Ohio State (Boardman High School)
Height: 6’3 Weight: 297
As a fifth-year senior, Corey was a team captain on the 12-2 Ohio State Buckeyes this past fall. He was honored at year’s end by being named to the All-Big Ten’s First-Team. Linsley, playing center, anchored the nation’s 10th best rushing offense (242 yards per game). Number 71 began his college career at guard before replacing Mike Brewster at center during his final two seasons in Columbus.
The Boardman product was a two-time 2nd-team All-State selection as a junior and senior. Corey benches over 500-pounds, which should serve him well at the next level. Linsley offers teams an offensive lineman with the versatility to play both guard and center.
Most draft experts have Linsley coming off the board between the 4th and 6th rounds.
In recent years, two of Boardman’s offensive linemen have been drafted. John Greco went to St. Louis in the 3rd round of the 2008 draft while Steve Vallos was chosen by Seattle in the 7th round, the year prior.
