Former YPD officer pleads guilty in sex soliciting case

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Former Youngstown Police Department Sergeant Robert Lodwick pleaded guilty to importuning Tuesday in relation to a case in which he allegedly solicited sex from a fourteen-year-old girl, according to the Mahoning County Court system website.

Lodwick pleaded Tuesday during a hearing on a motion to suppress, and his sentencing is scheduled for June 4.

Lodwick was investigating a case involving the statutory rape of the 14-year-old when he began soliciting sex from her, according to testimony from the girl’s mother and representing attorney. Authorities also charged Lodwick with having naked pictures of the girl.
