Howland battles two blazes

HOWLAND (WKBN) — Howland fire crews battled two separate blazes Friday.

Firefighters were called about 10 p.m. to a fire in the 7900 block of Raglan Drive. The garage was gutted by the flames, but no injuries were reported.

A damage estimate was not available.

Earlier in the day, firefighters responded to a fire at a home in the 600 block of Brentwood Avenue.

An elderly man, his wife and their son made it out safely.

The fire started about 2 a.m. in the bedroom and caused about $50,000 in damage.

The American Red Cross is helping the family. No word yet on a cause for either fire.
