YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — If storms could talk, Wednesday’s storms would have a lot to say.
Mother Nature unleashed her fury with lightning, thunder, strong winds, hail and heavy rain. The storms prompted numerous severe thunderstorm warnings across Ohio and Pennsylvania.
As the vivid lightning danced across the sky, one incident Wednesday night reminded WKBN 27 First News reporter Matt Horn how powerful storms can be.
He was getting video of the storm from inside the station vehicle when lightning struck a swing set about 50 feet away.
But it wasn’t just thunder and lightning. Some areas, including in Hubbard and Austintown, had flooded streets from the heavy rain.
After the storm subsided, residents were treated to a rainbow and a beautiful sunset.
