Local authorities dealing with power outages

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Ohio Edison Spokesperson David Turner said Thursday morning that about 2500 area customers are without power.

Around 10 a.m., Turner said there was a cruiser on the way to a company substation to check out the outage. He did not know where the citizens affected by the outage and estimated power would be restored within an hour and a half.

Street lights on South Avenue were seen to be out Thursday morning.

A receptionist with the Struthers Police Department said that the majority of outages in Struthers seem to be west of Fifth Street and that power in the township should be restored by noon.
