2 charged in deadly neglect of central Pa. woman

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) – Two in-home health-care workers caregivers are facing charges in the death of a Lancaster woman.

Authorities said Wednesday that 43-year-old Stacy Wallick of Marietta and 47-year-old Duane Cecil of Leola are each charged with neglect of a care-dependent person, involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment.

They worked for Alliance HomeHelp in Lancaster.

Police say Wallick and Cecil failed to provide care for their client, 24-year-old Fantasia Robinson, who suffered from a degenerative disease and was supposed to receive round-the-clock care.

Robinson was found unresponsive and pinned between her wheelchair and a cabinet in her apartment on May 5, 3013. She had severe burns to her abdomen and upper legs, possibly from a hot liquid.

She died in a hospital about five weeks later.
