WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A non-profit group is offering free medical and dental services in Warren.
The dental clinic at the Lloyd McCoy Community Health Center stays busy. Dental work is a big part of what it does, but there is also a great need in the community for medical and behavioral health care.
To help meet that need, MedWorks, a Cleveland non-profit, is holding a free medical and dental clinic on Saturday, June 7 at the Lloyd McCoy Community Health Center, 1977 Niles Rd., Warren.
“Totally free, no questions asked,” said Carrie Clark, MedWorks executive director. “We like to say we give unconditional care.”
Physicals, mammograms and other diagnostic tests are just some of the services that will be offered.
MedWorks provides medical care for the under and uninsured. It held a similar clinic in Youngstown last year and served scores of people.
“What MedWorks likes to do is come into the community, have our patients cared for by your local community doctors and volunteers, and really get to know a health center like Lloyd McCoy so our patients can come back here and really feel that they have a place that they can call their medical home,” said Clark.
The Warren center has a lab and pharmacy on site. It expects to see 250 patients the day of the clinic. You can make an appointment and walk-ins are also welcome.
“We had people who hadn’t been to see doctors or dentists for years,” said Bob Padgett, One Health Ohio. “It was just very gratifying to hear them say I couldn’t have afforded this otherwise.”
The clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. To make an appointment, call (330) 259-1424.
