Mooney’s DiVincenzo heading to Ashland

Cardinal Mooney’s second baseman and pitcher, Gino DiVincenzo, has signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball next spring at Ashland University. The righty went undefeated at 7-0 this season with 64 strikeouts in 45 innings. He shutout Canfield in the district semifinal, 2-0. DiVincenzo batted .293 for the Cardinals.

Gino has earned a 3.75 GPA at Mooney and intends on majoring in nursing next fall.

Ashland finished the 2014 season with a 24-21 record. Coach John Shaly completed his 17th year at the helm of Eagle baseball. During his coaching career, Shaly has posted a record of 998-528-1 during his 27 year coaching career at Ashland, St. Leo and Berry.
