YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Ten of a dozen suspects arrested as part of a gang and drug indictment made their initial appearances in court Thursday afternoon.
One by one, the suspects appeared in front of a magistrate in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Prosecutors said they had been operating as the “E-Block gang” on Youngstown’s West Side.
They’re all facing drug and gang charges, as well as felonious assault and aggravated robbery. At this point, all of the suspects are in custody.
The suspects are:
- Tawaun Gordon, 18
- Tyrone Gordon, 42
- Derrick Franklin, 18
- Laytton Sheppard, age unavailable
- Daniel Bell, 22
- Devin Bell, 18
- Jevon Fitzgerald, 21
- Kyree Grabe, 19
- Roderick Wilson, 27
- Keith Tillis Jr., 25

- Laytton Lenoir, 34
Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor Martin Desmond said eight of the 12 suspects were arrested at a house on McGuffey Road on Tuesday and two were arrested last week after the grand jury handed up the indictments. He said one is in state prison and one is in federal prison.
“We are going to make arrangements in the next week or so for them to be brought back here for the arraignments,” Desmond said.
A juvenile suspect was arraigned Thursday in Mahoning County Juvenile Court.
Trials for all of the suspects are set for July. Prosecutors said if they’re convicted on all of the counts against them, the defendants are each facing decades behind bars.
