NILES, OH (WKBN) — The Mahoning Valley Italian American Sports Hall of Fame named its first Woman of the Year on Thursday at a banquet at Ciminero’s Banquet Center.
She is Karen Infante Allen of Niles, who currently serves as the Trumbull County Clerk of Courts.
Her brother Ralph is the mayor of Niles and was Man of the Year in 2003.
Infante-Allen was selected for the award for her achievements and public service.
She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School, Niles McKinley High School and is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. Infante-Allen is a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles.
As The Trumbull County Clerk of Courts, she is responsible for various administrative and ministerial duties in conjunction with the Court of Common Pleas.
These duties include filing, docketing, indexing, and preserving all court pleadings for civil, felony criminal and domestic relations cases.
The Mahoning Valley Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame has awarded more than $150,000 to 242 students in scholarship awards since the inception of its scholarship program 27 years ago.
