VFW honors Youngstown judge

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown Municipal Court Judge Robert P Milich was honored Monday by Veterans of Foreign Wars post 6488 and its Ladies Auxiliary.

Milich is a retied Air Force lieutenant colonel and spearheaded the creation of a veterans treatment court in 2010. The program gives non-violent offenders the option of treatment instead of going to prison.

Milich said he has been working with this post for 30 years and was surprised to be honored this time around.

“Well, it’s always nice to be recognized as I will mention, nobody accomplishes anything by themself. It’s always a team effort,” Milich said.

Widows of deceased veterans also were recognized at the ceremony.
