Crews knock down South Side fire

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown firefighters were busy Tuesday morning on the city’s South Side.

Crews were called to a house on Clarencedale Avenue around 4:30 a.m.

The fire started on the first floor and extended to the second story. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly.

Youngstown Battalion Chief Gary DiTullio said a neighbor told arriving crews that a woman and three children stayed at the home, but no one was there at the time of the fire.

Damage estimates are at $17,000.

A cause has not been determined.
