Student hits pole on way to school

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Power crews fixed a utility pole damaged by a young driver who was reportedly running late for school.

The driver crashed into a pole about 8 a.m. Tuesday on South Avenue in Boardman, near the Sparkle Market.

Traffic was slow going in the area while police interviewed the driver and removed debris from the road.

Police say the teen tried to maneuver to get around a car in front of him.

No one was hurt.
