Sunoco gets to work on damaged road

ELLSWORTH TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Sunoco has responded to complaints by residents in Ellsworth Township and work has begun to resurface a road there.

After WKBN 27 First News reported that residents were outraged at the condition of Berlin Station Road, Sunoco stepped up its efforts to make repairs to the pavement.

Crews were out Wednesday morning to do preliminary work for paving that is scheduled to begin Thursday.

The asphalt has been crumbling because of heavy equipment going up and down the road for a pipeline construction project.

Residents said the road is treacherous and many times they are forced to drive on the wrong side of the road to miss gaping potholes and broken asphalt. Even a guardrail was destroyed.

Sunoco spokesperson Jeff Shields said that paving crews will be working west to east to minimize conflict with pipeline work.
