Reserve baseball holds off Aquinas

The Western Reserve baseball team is now one victory away from the State Tournament.

The Blue Devils held off Saint Thomas Aquinas 5-3 in the Division IV Regional Semifinals on Thursday.

Wyatt Larimer tallied three hits with an RBI in the win, while Jon Timko finished drove in a pair of runs. Walker Marlowe also notched an RBI in the win for the Blue Devils.

Tristan Bova recorded the win on the mound, pitching five innings. He allowed two earned runs on six hits, with three strikeouts and two walks. John Clegg picked up the save, working two scoreless innings of relief.

Western Reserve improves to 18-5 on the season. Up next on the tournament docket is a date with Cuyahoga Heights in the Division IV Regional Finals Friday at 5PM at The Pipeyard in Lorain.
