Woodridge holds off Poland

Poland’s season came to an end following a 3-2 loss to Woodridge in the Division II Regional Semifinals Thursday in Hudson. The Bulldogs stranded a runner at third in the final frame with a chance to tie the game.

Pat Carlozzi allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings, with five strikeouts and three walks. At the plate he finished with an RBI triple and a run scored. Ricky Svetlak drove in the other run for the Bulldogs with a single.

Kevin Kelleher went 2-3 with two doubles and 2 RBI for Woodridge. He also pitched six innings, allowing two runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

Poland’s season ends with a record of 22-7.
