Fields ready for football league

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The fields are now ready to go for Youngstown’s Youth Flag Football League.

The League is part of Judge Dellick’s sports program, and it kicks off five weeks of play beginning Saturday morning.

The games will be held on two fields at the Arlington Heights Recreation Center. Parks and Recreation employees were out lining the fields Friday.

Parks and Recreation Director Bob Burke said the league means a lot to the kids who take part.

“The kids love these activities because it is a fun environment,” said Burke. “It is a fun activity in a safe environment, and their families come out and watch them and cheer them on.”

About 100 kids are expected to come out to play on seven or eight teams. Games start at 10 a.m.

Judge Dellick’s sports program supports other sports throughout the year including basketball, golf, and bowling.
