Lakeview student arrested for having knife, causing disruption

CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Cortland Police arrested a Lakeview High School student on school grounds Thursday after he became disruptive and was found to have a deadly weapon.

According to police, Dalton Bunker, 18, was disruptive after he found out that he would be receiving a diploma but not permitted to attend the graduation ceremony.

Police were called about 2:30 p.m. to the school after Bunker allegedly began “yelling obscenities, causing alarm, and taunting school officials from the parking lot”, according to reports.

An officer responding to the school checked Bunker’s backpack and discovered a medium-sized automatic switchblade type knife.

Bunker was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and illegally conveying/possessing a deadly weapon in a school safety zone.

He was taken to the Trumbull County Jail.
