Woman killed when SUV crashes into Pa. salon ID’d

CABOT, Pa. (AP) – Authorities have released the name of a woman killed when a sport utility vehicle crashed through the wall of a western Pennsylvania hair salon.

State police in Butler County said 67-year-old Janet Huth was sitting inside Scissor Heaven in Jefferson Township on Friday when she was hit by an SUV driven by another customer.

Fire chief Chris Ballina said Huth was pinned between the SUV and a half-wall just inside the front door of the salon 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. He said emergency crews had to tear down the half-wall and lift the vehicle to free her.

Lori Roberts, who with her husband owns the salon, tearfully told the Butler Eagle that both Huth and the driver have been longtime customers.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
