YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown Police arrested Stephen Hogan of Youngstown Thursday after officers responded to a call alleging that he was repeatedly throwing a kitten into the street, according to a police report.
Police initially responded to a report of a woman who said she arrived at Hogan’s residence on West Indianola Ave. to find her car, which was parked there, with two of its tires slit and its front and rear windows blown out. Another officer found Hogan soon after, who said he caused the damage after becoming upset because he thought the woman’s daughter, his girlfriend, was going to break up with him, according to the police report.
Police released the suspect at the scene, since the victim would have to file charges in the case. Police later got a second call, claiming that Hogan was throwing the kitten.
Authorities arrested Hogan on a charge of injuring animals at his house around 8:30, finding an injured cat in the front seat of the car with the broken windows. A humane agent arrived and took custody of three kittens and a grown cat.
