Hermitage police say moose statue returned

HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) — Wednesday, the Hermitage Police records department received a phone call from Cottage Gardens advising that a moose statue stolen from their property Tuesday had been returned sometime overnight Tuesday.

The police department said the moose was returned in several pieces that apparently can be reassembled.

Hermitage police reported  receiving a call around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from someone at Cottage Gardens on East State Street saying the moose was gone. The moose is made of wire mesh covered in burlap sacks and was standing outside the Cottage Gardens business on East State Street in Hermitage, but went missing overnight Monday.

The moose is 5 feet tall, 8 feet long and weighs 60 pounds.
