COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Police in Columbus say a 13-year-old boy was fatally shot by another teenager while they were playing with a handgun.
A police report says Shaquez Brunner was shot once Tuesday afternoon at an apartment with three older boys on the city’s west side. He was pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour later.
Police say they determined a 16-year-old was handling the gun when Brunner was shot, and they charged him with a delinquency count of murder.
The 16-year-old told police he accidentally fired the gun.
