Ohio police: Motorcyclists die in separate crashes

Accident-Motorcycle-2

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohio police say two motorcyclists have died after their bikes struck vehicles in separate crashes on Columbus roads.

Columbus police identified one man as 27-year-old Kip Johnson. Johnson was southbound on Summit Street in Columbus around 11:50 p.m. Friday moving at a high speed when he struck a car that crossed in his path. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earlier Friday, 27-year-old Stratis Kostoglou died when his bike struck the rear of a vehicle. Police say Kostoglou was heading north on SR315 about 2:20 a.m. Friday when the accident happened. He was also pronounced dead on site.

Police are awaiting toxicology tests but say alcohol may be a factor in Kostoglou’s crash. It’s unknown if alcohol played a role in Johnson’s case.
