TAG arrests two for drug trafficking

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — Members of the TAG Law Enforcement Task Force arrested a woman and a man Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, in Niles on drug trafficking charges with help from the Niles Police, according to a press release.

Authorities from TAG, a combined task force from Trumbull and Ashtabula County officials, arrested Clarissa Luckey, 20, and Ryan Drummond, 30 after a four-month investigation. Police charged Luckey with one count of trafficking in heroin and Drummond with three counts of trafficking in crack cocaine.

The task force started the investigation after receiving public complaints but the public was unaware of an ongoing investigation. Recently the Niles Police Department started receiving an overwhelming amount of calls for action and those urgent calls forced the task force to take swifter action before the investigation was complete.

Drummond was arraigned in Niles Municipal Court, while Luckey’s charges were presented as an indictment to a Trumbull County grand jury.  The task force seized one motor vehicle and U.S. currency as a result of this investigation.
