Teachers learn cutting edge technology at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Experienced teachers and teacher candidates gathered on Saturday at YSU’s Beeghly College of Education to learn how to better use technology in their lessons.

The theme for the conference this year was: Technology for Today and Tomorrow’s Classroom.

During the daylong event, teachers were given the tools to help them create newer, more innovative ways to use technology to help boost classroom learning.

“I believe our educational systems are looking at innovative ways to use technology, but more importantly also to look at education and how it’s transforming through technology,” said Associate Professor Lauren Cummins.

Cummins also said that if teachers walk away from this conference with just one idea that they can use in their classroom to improve student learning, then they achieved their goal.
