14-year-old boy charged in fatal shooting

YORK, Pa. (AP) – A teenager is charged with criminal homicide following a shooting in York.

Officials at York County Prison confirmed Saturday that 14-year-old Leonard Anthony Green III was committed to the prison following the early-morning shooting.

Authorities say Green shot 17-year-old Patrick Winter of York once in the chest as he sat in a parked vehicle along East King Street around midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene and Greene was arrested without incident around 6 a.m.

Police say Green was charged as an adult with the approval of the York County district attorney’s office.
