Vehicle accident claims one life in Mahoning Twp.

MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WKBN) — Heath Kill, 33, is dead after a fatal accident just across the Ohio-Pennsylvania border near state Route 224 late Saturday evening.

Kill, from the Edinburg area, was reportedly riding a four-wheel drive vehicle with another person along Church Hill Road in Mahoning Township near the Norfolk Southern rail line when he went over a 25-30 feet embankment.

Police said Kill was outside his vehicle helping the other person, in a Jeep Cherokee, back up when that car ended up going over the embankment. Police are not sure how, but Kill wound up going over the embankment as well.

The Deputy coroner was at the scene and the coroner is still investigating the accident as of Monday morning.

Fire, rescue and police departments from Mahoning Township, Union Township and North Beaver Township helped with the search.
