Camera equipment stolen from Boardman store over weekend

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Boardman Police received a call early Saturday morning, alerting them to the theft of what may be over $50,000 in camera equipment from a shop in Boardman Township.

An alarm company called police just before 6 a.m. Saturday, saying the rear alarm at YM Camera in Boardman had been activated. Police found the rear door open, with the door jamb broken, according to a police report.

Surveillance video shows three subjects enter the store, take some merchandise and leave in just over two minutes. The suspects appeared larger-sized, wearing hoodies, gloves and masks, according to the report.

Owner James Yankush set a low-end estimate for the value of the stolen items at $50,000.
