Warren police probe shooting death

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Wednesday, Warren police are investigating the death of Deon Sanders in a Tuesday-night shooting in Warren.

Police said Sanders, in his 20s, was shot at a home at 224 Forest St. N.E. about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Sanders was from Youngstown but had been living in Cleveland, according to Janiecia Abrams, who said she is the mother of Sanders’ child.

A police supervisor said the death is still being investigated. No arrests had been made in the case as of Tuesday morning.

Police brought a man, whom neighbors identified as the shooter according to WKBN print partner the Tribune Chronicle, in for questioning and later released him. The house is registered to Michelle Profera, who neighbors said was in a relationship with Washington.
