Storm causes power outages in Mercer Co.

MERCER CO., Pa. (WKBN) — The Pennsylvania Power website reported that 461 were without power as of about 4:30 Thursday afternoon in Mercer County, Pa. as crews from the company work to restore electrical power after Wednesday night’s storms.

Penn Power Representative Chuck Jackson said Thursday morning he hoped power would be restored by dark. Jackson said 30 crews worked all night to restore power and that new crews have been brought in to work today.

The First Energy website reported 123 without power in Trumbull County, 25 left powerless in Mahoning County and fewer than five in Columbiana County as of about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Ohio Edison Representative Robin Patton did not know when power would be restored in Ohio when asked Thursday morning.
