Fight causes crash in Warren

Oak Street crash in Warren

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) —  Police said a fight between a man and a woman inside a car is to blame for a messy accident Friday morning in Warren.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. on Oak Street S.W. Police said the driver was speeding down the road when he lost control, hit a ditch, went airborne and then sheared a utility pole in half, bringing down wires and a transformer.

Richard Sliter, who lives nearby, witnessed the whole thing.

“I watched the car turn back toward the road thinking they were going to come back and then all of a sudden I am like ‘oh my God’ and then smack I watched the transformer tumble in the air and came down behind the car as the car launched, came up behind that telephone pole, I thought they were going to hit the tree, but they veered back out,” Sliter said.

Police are looking for the man who was driving the car. Police said the owner of the car who was with him at the time as a passenger was not being cooperative with them.
