YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A community came out on Sunday to support a young man who is fighting a big enemy.

Cody Congemi was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in his neck and chest.

Since then, the recent Cardinal Mooney graduate has been getting chemotherapy treatments at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Friends, family, schoolmates and well-wishers gathered today at Pal Joey’s to let him know he’s not fighting alone. It was a message Cody has received loud and clear.

“People have made it a lot better, easier for me. It’s been a long journey and we’re coming towards the end here,” said Congemi.

Organizers said they expected 200 to 300 people to attend the event.
