Crash Day introduces students to YSU

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Prospective students visited YSU’s campus Monday to learn more about the school’s academics, sports and extracurricular programs.

Today is Crash Day on campus, where students immerse themselves in classes and speak to professors and current students. Ron Cole said 275 students showed up Monday morning, 127 more than last year.

Those students can apply to be accepted to YSU for the start of Fall 2014 classes. The day wraps up at 3.

YSU’s new president Jim Tressel was on hand to meet visitors.

A big part of Tressel’s platform is attracting more students and getting them to graduate from the University.
