NWS confirms tornado touchdown in Cleveland suburb

BRUNSWICK, Ohio (WKBN) — The National Weather Service in Cleveland has confirmed a tornado touchdown in Brunswick, outside of Cleveland.

This tornado would have occurred between 7 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Monday. The details released by the National Weather Service are preliminary and will be finalized Tuesday when a full storm survey can be done during the daylight hours.

The NWS says the tornado occurred in the city of Brunswick. They report damage around Andrea Drive and Royal Oak Drive. Preliminary reports say 10 homes sustained damage, several of which are no longer inhabitable due to the extent of the damage.

Early estimates suggest the tornado will be ranked as a high EF1 tornado (winds up to 110MPH) or a low EF2 tornado (winds greater than 110 MPH). A full survey will be conducted Tuesday and a final report will be issued Tuesday afternoon.
