Residents may act on tax change in Newton Falls

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WKBN) – A group in Newton Falls will act to put a new tax ordinance before voters.

Starting in July, people living in Newton Falls but working somewhere else will pay more taxes.

City Council passed an ordinance last week to reinstate a 1 percent income tax.

The Tribune Chronicle reports that a concerned citizens group may push to get the issue on the ballot in the fall to have the ordinance repealed.
