Catholic Charities opens new building

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) —  Catholic Charities Regional Agency has a new home in Youngstown.

The agency held an open house and blessing at its new location at 319 W. Rayen Ave. near downtown. It used to be on Belmont Avenue and officials said the move has been in the works for two years.

The new site features a food pantry, office space, meeting space and a common area.

Youngstown Catholic Diocese Bishop George Murry gave the blessing and talked about the importance of Catholic Charities in this area.

“This building represents the outreach of the Catholic Church throughout the entire Diocese of Youngstown to poor and needy people and we will continue to do that. We will continue to use resources for those who are forgotten because they are loved by the Lord,” Bishop Murry said.

The agency serves people in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
