YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — There will only be two names appearing on the November ballot for Mahoning County Probate Court.
Attorney Mary Ann Fabrizi, who had filed to run as a non-party candidate, withdrew from the race on Wednesday. Her name now will be taken off the ballot.
That leaves Democratic nominee Susan Maruca and Canfield attorney Robert Rusu, who was recently appointed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich to fill out the unexpired term of Mark Belinky. Rusu also filed as a non-party candidate.
Belinky resigned in March amid a state investigation and then pleaded guilty to records tampering charges. He will be sentenced July 9, which is the day after Rusu is sworn in as judge.
