Faith-based group cleaning up park

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The goal of a two-day project in Warren is to clean up the city.

The Warren Interfaith Community Action Committee (WICAC) worked at Interfaith Park along Niles Road Friday cleaning up trash, but the group is also working on other improvements in the park.

Plans are underway to revitalize the basketball courts and bring in new swings before summer is over.

“A few things we want to get done are the parking lot. It needs some improvements. We have been experiencing some dumping, so we are going to need some type of gate to keep out the trucks and semi-trucks,” said Christina Anderson, Warren Interfaith Community Action Committee. “

The park covers a little more than 19 acres.

Anderson said the group is also looking into local and federal grants to help with the costs of repairs.
