Formal hearing decided for DeMaine Kitchen

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The fate of one-time Youngstown Mayoral candidate DeMaine Kitchen and a questionable campaign contribution he received could be decided late this summer.

The Ohio Election Commission voted to hold a formal hearing into allegations Kitchen took $4,000 in cash from former mayor Chuck Sammarone. The cash was allegedly exchanged towards the end of the 2013 race.

State law limits cash contributions to just $100.

Kitchen will have the opportunity to refute the claims against him. Calls placed to Kitchen have not been returned.

A date for the hearing has not been set.
