Men arrested on school roof

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown police arrested two men after they were found on the roof of an East Side School building.

An officer on patrol received a tip about the suspects Thursday morning.

When they arrived at the Mary Haddow School on Oak Street Extension, police could see a man on the roof. The fire department was called in with a ladder.

About five minutes later, Howard Ahart, 51, and Daniel Moerch, 31, came down from the building.

Police said they may have been stealing copper wiring from air conditioning units.

Both men are facing several charges, including breaking and entering, vandalism, and possessing criminal tools.
