Boy, 4, shot in leg at Cleveland school playground

YPD investigating two shootings

CLEVELAND (AP) – Cleveland police say a drive-by shooting wounded a 4-year-old boy at an elementary school playground.

Police say witnesses reported that one of several people in a passing blue car opened fire as the boy and an older sibling were at the playground late Sunday afternoon on the city’s east side. The boy was struck in the leg.

Police say the older sibling fled the area with the boy, who was later taken to a hospital.

Police indicated they don’t believe the young boy was an intended target. His name and condition weren’t released by authorities.

No other injuries were reported.
